The total airfare price is always made up of three components. It consists of the pure airfare that the airline charges to meet its fixed costs, the state taxes and fees that the airline has to pay to the tax office, the Federal Police and the airport operator, and the personal surcharges such as luggage and seat reservation charges. If you want to cancel your flight or just did not take your flight, you are always entitled to a refund for the taxes, fees and surcharges. However, these entitlements are not related to the ticket price paid. You will therefore receive the highest possible refund from us - quickly, easily and in a legally secure way.
Your statutory refund claims after a cancellation or an unused flight still exist 3 years after the original flight date. This is a consequence of general statutory limitation rules. So you can claim a refund for flights you did not take over last 3 years today.
European law provides in principle that airlines are allowed to apply foreign law to carriage contracts. We have long held this to be an unjustified disadvantage to air travellers, as this regulation does not apply in other areas. From our point of view, German passengers should also be able to appeal to German law. However, the airlines’ choice-of-law clauses are mostly non-transparent and are therefore invalid. You will receive our non-binding offer within a very short time by e-mail. Upon acceptance of our offer, we will transfer the specified amount immediately after assignment of your claims using the payment method chosen by you. That means we take care of everything for you quickly and easily.
If you did not or will not take a flight, you can submit the flight booking to us – even retroactively for the last three calendar years. This also applies if your flight cannot be cancelled or refunded according to the airline’s terms and conditions for booking. We generally process all flights that start or end within the European Union. However, due to the sometimes differing legal situations, certain flights or airlines may be exempted. That is why we review each case individually – this process is free for you.
In addition to a small amount of information about yourself, you only need to submit the relevant data for the flight booking you would like to offer us. The key here is the booking confirmation/invoice with proof of the total amount paid. You can upload these documents in electronic form (e.g. PDF or image). It is important, especially for bookings with more than one traveller, that the (main) booker indicated on the submitted documents always submits the flight to us.

Geld-für-Flug.de only uses the purchased tickets to request the corresponding refund claims from the airlines. They are not (!) resold by us. Also, this wouldn't be possible due to the personalization of the tickets.
You can always try to submit your claims directly with the airline or the travel agency. However, most airlines and travel agencies vehemently refuse to provide the refund you are entitled to or levy horrendous processing fees. It is often necessary to hire a lawyer or go to court. We would, however, LIKE to draw your attention to one exceptional case: If you booked your flight directly on the Lufthansa Group website and cannot make both outbound and return flights, you will usually receive the taxes and fees back from Lufthansa in a straightforward manner.
